ENTER YOUR ORIGINAL FLASH FICTION STORY

DEADLINE IS MAY 1, 2003

Guidelines:

1. Create your original fiction with memorable characters and interesting consequences--with 500 words or less.

2. Register for our on-line Writers at the Cove © Flash Fiction Contest before the deadline of May 1, 2003. Winner will be notified by July 1, 2003. This year's winner, author Wendy Lestina, won with her biting, outrageous story, On The Other Hand, in our May 2002 competition.

3. Submit your story in an embedded e-mail (no attachments)with your name at the top of the e-mail. Do not include your name beneath the title of the story. IMPORTANT: In the e-mail Subject Line, type: Flash Fiction Competition.

4. Winners receive on-line publication in www.wordsmitten.com, a prize of $150.00, a one-year subscription to Inside the Cove (available in October) and the e-bullient recognition of the entire world.

5. Reading fee: $10.00 and submissions are on-line only. As a result of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, we only accept submitted material included in e-mail. No attachments.

6. Send your reading fee to us using our secure on-line transaction method (the same company that Ebay uses) with PayPal (www.paypal.com) and include your email for contact information. PayPal provides secure transactions and respects your privacy. PayPal will ask for our E-mail to assign your reading fee. Respond with awards@wordsmitten.com to properly register for the competition.

Remember: to enter the Flash Fiction Contest, just cut and paste your submission into the e-mail and send to: awards@wordsmitten.com!

Once we receive the submission, we will notify you that your entry has been accepted.
